October 30 - November 3, 2003 New Orleans, Louisiana PROFESSIONAL INTEREST GROUP FUNCTION Historic Preservation P.I. Group Reception Tickets will be collected for all ticketed events. Anyone not presenting a ticket will be asked to purchase one at the door; any resulting double payments will be refunded after the meeting. Only those individuals presenting a badge will be permitted to purchase tickets at the door. This annual reception honors the two recipients of the “Unsung Hero Award” at a unique elegant setting, the Historic New Orleans Collection. The collection was established in 1966 by General and Mrs. L. Kemper Williams, who were private collectors of Louisiana materials and whose desire was to maintain and expand their collection, making it available to the public through research facilities and exhibitions. The Collection operates a museum accredited by the American Association of Museums in a complex of historic French Quarter buildings at 533 Royal Street. Facilities at Royal Street include the Williams Gallery for changing exhibitions, several permanent exhibition galleries illustrating the history of the city and state, the Williams Residence house museum, and a museum shop.
