REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Pre-Registration has closed for the 2003 Annual Meeting in New Orleans. All registrations must now be handled in New Orleans at ASLA's Registration Desk at the Morial Convention Center, Hall H. Registration opens Wednesday, October 29, at 4:00pm-7:00pm.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES
The early bird registration rates will be in effect for all registrations received by September 22, 2003, regardless of the manner in which they were submitted. Registrations will continue to be accepted until October 17 but will automatically be processed with an increase of $100 in registration fees and $10 per ticketed event after September 22. Any registrations received via fax, mail, or online after October 17 will not be processed. The final attendee list, distributed at the annual meeting, will contain only those individuals registered by October 17.

Fax confirmations generated by the sender’s fax machine can serve as proof of submission in qualifying for the early bird rate. Be sure to save it! All mailed registrations must be received by the deadline regardless of the postmark. The online registration process will automatically begin charging the higher rates as of 11:59pm (Eastern time) on September 22.

REGISTRATION POLICIES
Please note that a procedural change has been instituted this year: only registered attendees (full or one day) are permitted to purchase tickets to events requiring a separate fee, i.e., the tours, Gala, etc., and badges will be checked for all complimentary events, i.e., general sessions, education sessions, EXPO, Alumni Reunion, etc. Tickets will not be sold at the door of any event to any individual without a badge.

Registration will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. All attendees must come to the registration area to receive their registration packet, which includes all tickets they’ve purchased and their meeting badge, their copy of the Education Session Abstracts (formerly Proceedings), and their on-site program. In addition, the lanyards and meeting notebooks are handed out in the registration area.

Lanyards are sponsored by Landscape Structures and SkateWave. The meeting notebooks are sponsored by The Toro Company.

SPOUSE/GUEST PROGRAM:
As a special treat for the registered spouses and guests of landscape architects, a formal spouse program is offered. As always, the registration fee includes the Closing Dinner ticket and admittance to the general sessions and the EXPO. This year the fee also includes a Friday tour open only to spouses and guests–-New Orleans’ famed shopping and historic area, Magazine Street. In addition, a hospitality suite will be available in the Marriott Hotel on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday by showing the spouse/guest badge. However, this badge does not permit entry into the education sessions; attendees desiring admittance to the education sessions must register at the member or nonmember rate. Make plans now to participate in the spouse/guest program and take advantage of all the program offers and make new friends along the way.

MEETING ATTENDANCE BY CHILDREN
In response to calls concerning attendance at the annual meeting by children, ASLA follows these guidelines:

• Children 16 and older are permitted to register at the student rate (full or one-day) and receive the rights and privileges of a registered individual, and purchase tickets to whatever they'd like.
  
• Children 15 and under are permitted to have Gala tickets purchased for them, but cannot register in anyway and, therefore, are not able to participate in any other annual meeting functions.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
ATTENTION: Past ASLA National Presidents, ASLA Executive Committee Members, Speakers, Press, and Exhibitors. If you are in one of these categories, Do not register online. You will receive a special registration form with specific information about your category which should be returned by mail or fax to ASLA. If you have not received this specially marked form by the end of July and wish to register, please contact ASLA at 202-898-2444.

Only individuals purchasing full registrations (full member, ASLA student member, nonmember, and spouse/guest) can register online. Non-ASLA student members may not register online. A copy of a valid student ID must be faxed or mailed with the registration form. One-day only registrations cannot be processed online with the exception of a One day spouse/guest accompanying a full registrant.

Tickets can only be purchased online with full or one-day registrations. With the exception of the Gala, each registrant may purchase only one ticket to each event. To purchase multiple Gala tickets for children, contact ASLA’s registrar in writing by mail at 636 Eye Street NW, Washington, DC 20001, by fax to 202-898-0342, or by e-mail to AM2003@asla.org.
