Sustainable, Vegetated Earth Retention Systems
4:15pm-4:35pm
Presented by Presto Products Company – Geosystems.

Vegetated earth retention systems are the most desirable form of earth retention in many landscape situations. This session discusses the key features and benefits of the Geoweb earth retention system, which is based on cellular confinement of soils in creating a natural, sustainable vegetated retaining wall. For more information, visit Booth #1007+1009.

Features and benefits include:

  • A terraced face of topsoil providing numerous horizontal surfaces for vegetation growth and rainwater collection resulting in natural groundwater replenishment.
  • The overall mass of stabilized topsoil providing ample medium for the vegetation’s root system resulting in healthy growth of many vegetation types.
  • An impervious vertical face preventing the excessive, nonnatural evaporation of ground moisture resulting in sustainability of vegetation.
  • The flexibility of the Geoweb units allowing for variability in terrace size and location resulting in more freedom in design.
  • The simplicity of construction resulting in less installation time and lower in-place construction costs.
  • The high-density polyethylene Geoweb unit, which imparts no harmful chemicals into the soil or air, is less than 2% of the wall system resulting in an environmentally friendly system.
  • The durability of the specially formulated, high-density polyethylene Geoweb unit providing a life expectancy that greatly exceeds today’s engineering requirements.

Mammoth Grip Sprinkler Spacers
4:15pm-4:35pm
Presented by starSIGHTinnovations.

Mammoth Grip Sprinkler Spacers by starSIGHTinnovations supply a uniform system for spacing, stabilizing, and installing sprinklers away from sidewalks, homes, and landscape barriers. Landscape architects, landscape contractors, grounds maintenance crews, irrigation suppliers, and property owners all benefit from this revolutionary product.

Sprinkler Spacers offer a consistent spacing system for easier, accurate sprinkler system installation; provide sprinklers with stability; supply flexibility in design and installation; save time, water, and money; and can be used for retrofitting currently installed sprinkling systems.

In this session, discussion will include the purpose of the Mammoth Grip Sprinkler Spacers, the need for a sprinkler spacing industry standard, and an explanation of the benefits of using the spacers. Come to this session and learn more about this exciting product. For more information, please contact www.sprinklerspacers.com or visit Booth #943.

Permeable Paving and LEED
4:50pm-5:10pm
Presented by Pavestone Company.

Both Pavestone permeable pavement products, the Grass Stone™ and InfiltraStone™, offer unique advantages over traditional pavements. Finished installations of these products provide an equilateral matrix of surface openings designed to reduce surface temperatures and capture amounts of surface water runoff and infiltrate it to the underlying soils or drainage infrastructure.

The end results are attenuation of runoff, increase in water quality, and mitigation of pollutant impact on the environment. Paving design, material selection, and drainage combine to make InfiltraStone™ and Grass Stone™ a potential Best Management Practice for LEED points. For more information, please contact www.pavestone.com or visit Booth #429.

Skate Parks
4:50pm-5:10pm
Presented by Huna Designs, exclusive manufacturers of Woodward Ramps and Rails.

Learn about the most exciting new design/build opportunity in the recreation industry. This session will cover the three basic kinds of skate parks that are available on the Huna Designs commercial market including the positives and negatives of each. Also discussed will be key topics like flow and design, appealing to and involving the skaters, community issues, liability concerns, and where to get the assistance needed to be successful. For more information, visit Booth #1317+1321.
