2002 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPOGeneral SessionsASLA is offering three general sessions in San Jose and, for a change, these sessions will be held in a separate location - the Civic Center Auditorium, located across the street from the McEnery Convention Center. The meeting will officially begin with the Opening General Session on Saturday, October 19, at 8:30am. Another general session is conducted on Sunday, October 20, at 8:30am. The Closing General Session will be held on Monday, October 21, at 3:15pm. The presentation of the Professional Awards and the Student General Session will also take place in the Civic Center Auditorium. In addition to conducting the official business of the Society at the general sessions, four keynote speakers will provide unique viewpoints on landscape architecture to the audience. Badges are not required for attendance at these sessions. Dale Chahuly will be missed. In the Sunday morning general session, keynote speaker and world-renowned Canadian photographer Courtney Milne will fill the stage with his dynamic portrayal of the splendor and energy of the natural world. His work encourages viewers to see in new ways and to feel more deeply about the wonder within and around them. Our warmest thoughts will be with glass artist Dale Chihuly--originally scheduled to share the stage with Milne--as he addresses personal medical issues. We will miss him.
