|The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has a long history of advocating and promoting the profession. The Society’s successes are due in part to many of you, our members -- your support and commitment have moved the profession forward. If you are reading LAND as a non-member, we invite you to join ASLA’s efforts to advance the landscape architecture profession. And if you are a member, please pass this message along to nonmembers and help us grow that support.
There are an abundance of opportunities within ASLA to build relationships, share ideas, celebrate accomplishments and advance the profession. The resources and advantages that are available to ASLA members are numerous. No matter your practice setting or experience, ASLA has something for you.
ASLA membership safeguards the investment you have made to build your career. The ASLA Government Affairs department works to protect licensure and ensure that the landscape architecture profession is at the forefront of critical issues under consideration by local, state, and federal policymakers. Furthermore, ASLA’s ongoing public awareness efforts have touched thousands of the general public as well as state and city officials, increasing the public’s understanding of the value of your work.
With membership in the national organization comes membership in the local chapter. ASLA offers members many opportunities to locally network with peers, participate in professional development activities, and promote the profession in the community through involvement with your ASLA chapter.
Members are kept current on industry news and trends with a subscription to the award-winning Landscape Architecture Magazine and LAND, this bi-weekly e-newsletter. Other benefits include use of the professional ASLA designation, giving you an important competitive edge and showing clients and peers your commitment to the highest level of professionalism. You also get expanded access to JobLink, where members can post a résumé and portfolio for free.
What makes ASLA membership especially significant is the member engagement and commitment to invest in the profession by supporting emerging professionals and students, partnership in the Sustainable Sites Initiative™ (SITES™)*, and more. Being an ASLA member is a great opportunity to support the profession as a whole.
Joining is easy, and ASLA can provide members with a payment plan that spreads the total dues balance over 12 easy installments by direct debit through your checking account.
The value of connection, advocacy, promotion, and resources is what ASLA offers. Landscape architecture is a collaborative design profession that flourishes with increased awareness -- with your membership, the profession’s voice grows louder and stronger.
