Hawaii ASLA Trustee Chris Dacus, ASLArecently won the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) President’s Transportation Award in the Environment category for the production of the first statewide Department of Transportation invasive species plan and first “how to” sustainable maintenance manual. AASHTOis a standards-setting body that publishes specs, test protocols, and guidelines that are used in highway design and construction.
