CELA Announces Its Call for Abstracts
Deadline for submitting abstracts for CELA's annual conference is April 21.

The Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) has announced that it is currently accepting abstract submissions for papers, panels, and interactive presentations for its annual conference. The conference, cohosted by Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, and the University of New Mexico, will be held January 28–31, 2009, in Tempe, Arizona.

This year’s conference theme, “Teaching and Learning Landscape,” focuses specifically on issues of pedagogy in landscape architecture. Papers are now being solicited in the following tracks:

  • design education and pedagogy
  • sustainability
  • history & theory + culture
  • communication + visualization
  • landscape planning + ecology
  • environment + human behavior
  • urban design
  • design implementation
  • methods of inquiry

To assist applicants, CELA has provided complete track descriptions and instructions online. Interested individuals should submit completed abstracts to Executive Director Janet Singer at abstracts@telepath.com no later than April 21, 2008.
