Student Awards Entry Deadline Approaching
ASLA is accepting student entry forms until May 9.

The 2008 ASLA Student Awards present an important opportunity for students to showcase their projects, receive professional critiques from high-caliber, experienced jurors, and garner public recognition for their award-winning work, faculty advisers, and collegiate landscape architecture programs. Students competing in the 2008 awards should submit their entry forms and payments by Friday, May 9. ASLA will then send each entrant an official submission binder to return no later than Friday, May 23.

The 2008 awards call for entries outlines the complete awards criteria and guidelines. Students that meet the eligibility requirements may enter any of the following categories:

ASLA will honor award recipients and their advisers at the awards presentation ceremony and a special champagne reception during the ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO in Philadelphia, October 3–7, 2008. Award recipients will receive a complimentary full registration to the 2008 annual meeting. Furthermore, Award of Excellence recipients will receive complimentary travel and hotel accommodations.

To assist entrants with their award submissions, 2008 ASLA Professional Jury Chair Warren Byrd, FASLA, prepared some winning strategies to consider when entering projects. For more inspiration, students should visit the 2007 Student Awards winners to review successful entries and juror comments.
