Sustainable Sites Call for Case Studies
May 1, 2008 is the deadline for submitting sustainable projects to the Initiative
The Sustainable Sites Initiative, an interdisciplinary partnership between ASLA, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, the United States Botanic Garden and a diverse group of stakeholder organizations to develop guidelines and standards for landscape sustainability, seeks to collect case studies that use sustainable land development and management practices. ASLA members are invited to submit projects that monitor and document the success or failure of sustainable land practices. It is not required that the project be a sustainable site in all respects but rather that it illustrates such sustainable practices as stormwater management, integrated design teams, water conservation, habitat restoration (soil, vegetation and wildlife), education, user health and well-being, materials selection and management and others. The Initiative is hoping to use case studies as illustrations of sustainable landscape practices for future reports, the sustainablesites.org website, presentations and other media on the Sustainable Sites Initiative.
Please visit the Sustainable Sites Initiative website for more information. Members can submit their projects using an online
form. The deadline is May 1, 2008.
