Announcements

Astrid Haryati, ASLA, has become the greening director for the city and county of San Francisco, CA. She now works in Mayor Gavin Newsom's office, previously having worked on green initiatives for the city of Chicago.

Christy Summers, ASLA, has been made a principal at Beckett & Raeder, Inc, a Michigan-based landscape architecture, planning, and engineering firm. Summers has design and implementation expertise in urban and downtown areas, corridor studies, passive and active recreation areas, university campuses, ADA accessibility studies, and corporate projects. She is responsible for project management, design, construction document preparation, and construction administration. She holds a bachelor of landscape architecture degree from Michigan State University.

Awards

Stephen Plunkard, FASLA, was recently awarded the 2007 Vermont Tree Steward Award for a practitioner by the Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Council. The awards recognize the efforts of communities and individuals in promoting urban and community forestry. Plunkard is currently with Stantec, a professional design and consulting firm with services in planning, engineering, architecture, surveying, economics, and project management.
