Keera Pullman Wins 2007 Dangermond Fellowship
Keera Pullman of Louisiana State University was selected as the 2007 recipient of the $10,000 Dangermond Fellowship. The Dangermond Fellowship was created through the collaborative efforts of ESRI, ASLA, and the Landscape Architecture Foundation to encourage the innovative use of geographic information systems (GIS) as a framework for exploring integrated approaches to landscape assessment and intervention.
Pullman’s proposal, 3-D Visualization and Analysis of Severe Tropical Cyclone Larry, will offer scientists a new tool for studying cyclone behavior and its effect on landscapes. The project promotes increased awareness and understanding of storm patterns and processes and improved planning and management of urban and natural resources.
The Dangermond Fellowship is supported by sale of ESRI software to ASLA members in private practice in the United States. Products available include ArcView, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, and ArcGIS 3D Analyst. For additional information go to www.asla.org/membersonly/ppl/esri.htm.
