Russell Adsit, FASLA, has been selected by the International Erosion Control Association's Board of Directors to serve as the association's executive director. Adsit will begin his term on as IECA’s executive director on November 5, 2007. As a current member of IECA, Adsit is familiar with the association, its structure and its membership. Adsit combines a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and a Masters in Agribusiness Management from Mississippi State University with business and association management skills gained through years of business ownership in Memphis, Tenn. and volunteer service for the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) at both the national and state levels.
Jane Didona, ASLA, and principal of Didona Associates has recently completed her thesis on Stormwater Management Practices and received her Master of Science in Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Her thesis, “Beauty and a Wet Pond Stormwater Management Practice”, is available for review on her website at www.didonaassociates.com.
Faye Harwell, ASLA, will be speaking at the Urban Waterfronts 25 conference held in Boston, Massachusetts from November 1-3, 2007. Her panel, "Water, Water, Precious Water" will be held on Saturday, November 3rd. More information about the conference can be found at www.waterfrontcenter.org.
Renata Kraft, ASLA, has joined the Land Development Group at Bergmann Associates. She is a Registered Landscape Architect with over twenty years experience in both public and private practice site design and development. After graduating with honors from the University of Washington’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning in Seattle, she worked for many years in the Pacific Northwest and then in San Diego, California before returning to live in and work out of Western New York. Her project experience includes large scale park and academic campus planning and design; urban and community planning; hospitality and tourism resource management; transit and transportation development; environmental resource management; and commercial/residential site design and construction.
