Representing the top student honors in the profession, ASLA announces 2007 Student Awards to 25 projects from 22 colleges and universities across the country and around the globe. The awards will be presented to winners at the 2007 Annual Conference and EXPO in San Francisco, October 5-9.

The No Child Left Behind Act Meets the No Child Left Inside Act
The No Child Left Inside Act, H.R. 3036 and S. 1981 introduced by Rep. Paul Sarbanes (D-MD) and in the Senate by Sen. Jack Reed aims to increase and improve K-12 environmental education programs and funding. The bill is supported by a diverse coalition of organizations including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the National Recreation and Park Association in addition to ASLA.

Vladimir Djurovic Landscape Architecture Wins Aga Khan Award
Vladimir Djurovic, International ASLA, and his firm have been awarded one of the nine Aga Khan Awards for Architecture for their Samir Kassir Square project in Beirut.

ACE Mentor Program Awards $49,500 in Scholarships; Graduates 79 in Class of 2007
On May 1, 2007 12 Washington-area high school seniors received a total of $49,500 in college scholarships from the ACE Mentor Program of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area.
