ASLA Green Roof Fund-raising Campaign at 85 Percent of Goal
Firm leaders are asked to give $1,000 over three years to project.

The fund-raising campaign to close the budget gap on the ASLA green roof project is closing in on its goal of $350,000 in cash contributions, grants, and service and product donations (LAND Online, 2/06/06). In mid-September, letters were sent to ASLA members who are firm managing principals asking each firm to contribute $1,000 to the project. The first four weeks of the latest fund-raising campaign have brought in $32,519 from:

Far and away, firms represent the largest contribution/pledge group, with $118,979 received from 68 firms to date, for an average of $1,750 per firm. Sixty individuals have contributed/pledged to the project a total of $40,715, for an average of $679 each. To date, 31 professional and four student ASLA chapters have contributed $33,700 to the project. Grants and donated products and services make up the remainder of the funds.

Contributions may be pledged now and paid in installments through December 31, 2008. The contribution/pledge form and the list of benefits are available online.
