Annual Meeting EXPO Hall to Offer Facts and Fun
ULI Bookstore and Passport Game bring added reasons to visit the EXPO floor at the 2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd Annual IFLA World Congress.

As if 400 exhibitors, hundreds of new products, and the largest trade show in the industry for landscape architects and allied professionals weren’t enough, ASLA has added two reasons to make sure annual meeting attendees spend some time perusing the EXPO floor.

ASLA/ULI Bookstore
As in past years, the 2006 ASLA/ULI Bookstore will operate from the EXPO floor, selling hundreds of new and best-selling landscape architecture titles. When shopping at the annual meeting, ASLA members save 10 percent on their purchases, and an additional portion of the proceeds will be used to fund ASLA education programs. New this year, the bookstore will have extended hours on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, allowing late shoppers to purchase their reading material for the ride home.

The bookstore has also lined up an impressive list of authors and speakers who will be available for book signings throughout the meeting. Here is the current schedule:

EXPO Passport Game—A Chance to Win

To increase traffic on the EXPO floor and bring some fun and excitement to this year’s meeting, ASLA will be holding a competition dubbed the EXPO Passport Game. Attendees wishing to participate will be given a “passport” list of EXPO exhibitors to visit. Participants must visit all the exhibitors on the list and ask them to stamp the passport with a sticker. When participants have collected all 20 stickers, they will turn in the completed passport to the “Customs” desk in the EXPO.

Completed passports will be entered into a drawing for the following prizes:

Grand prize: Honda scooter or $2,500 Honda voucher

1st prize: Solar messenger bag

2nd prize: (2 second prizes) Digital camera

3rd prize: (3 third prizes) Ipod Nano

4th prize: $150 Fahrney's gift certificate

The rules for Passport Game are as follows:

  • You must be a paid full professional registrant or full daily registrant (Sat. or Sun.) of the 2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress to participate in the prize drawing.
  • You must obtain a sticker from all 20 exhibitors on your itinerary to be eligible for the drawing.
  • Stickers can be collected any time during EXPO hours on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Your passport is complete when all 20 stickers have been affixed to your passport.
  • You may complete as many passports as you wish.
  • Completed passports must be turned in to the “Customs” desk in the EXPO by 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 8. Make sure to include your name and contact information on the back of the passport.
  • Winners will be announced at the Closing General Session on Monday. Prizes may be claimed at the ASLA Information Booth in the main lobby until 6:00 pm on Monday. You do not need to be present to win. If you are not present, your prize will be shipped to you.
