The 2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress: It’s all About the Networking
The ASLA/IFLA meeting is a great place to learn from colleagues, meet prospective employees, and even get a job.
 |
| Annual meeting attendees mingle during the ASLA-Landscape Structures Gala during the 2005 Annual Meeting. Networking is one of the intangible, but potentially most valuable, benefits of attending any annual meeting. |
One of the many intangible benefits of attending any annual meeting is the opportunity to network with colleagues, suppliers, and others interested in the industry. However, more often than not, convention networking depends on chance meetings on the EXPO floor or the seating arrangements of a formal dinner. The ASLA Annual Meeting and IFLA World Congress will provide plenty of opportunities for these chance encounters, but it also takes some of the guesswork out of networking by providing excellent networking forums during the meeting.
Professional Practice Network Meetings
ASLA’s 17 Professional Practice Networks unite colleagues who share common practice emphases. Attend one or more of these discussion sessions to network, exchange ideas and information, and discover opportunities to advance your practice and your practice area. Groups may additionally use this time to discuss and structure projects for the upcoming year. You do not need to be a current member of the group to attend and contribute—newcomers are welcome.
