Green Solutions for a Blue Planet by the Numbers
Early returns show the 2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress are on a record pace for total attendance.
Last year’s ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, drew a record crowd of more than 5,000 attendees, setting a standard for this year’s events. Thanks to a combination of outstanding keynote speakers, education sessions, and the international flavor, the 2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress is poised to meet or exceed last year’s attendance. Here are some of the statistics on registration to date:
Current total registration: 2,278
Average amount paid by each professional: $527
Average number of tickets per professional: 4
Average paid by each student: $205
Average number of tickets per student: 3
In addition to these numbers, it should be noted that attendees will be gathering in Minneapolis from close to 40 different countries. These statistics demonstrate the 2006 Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress is creating serious demand from across the landscape architecture profession.
This demand is also reflected in the high registration for field sessions and tours, many of which have, or are close to being, sold out. If there is a field session or tour you are interested in attending, it is imperative that you register for the meeting now to guarantee a spot.
