2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress Provide Opportunities to Earn Continuing Education Credit
Attendees can earn up to 15 hours of continuing education credit or up to 30 hours with optional programs that may be used to maintain licensure.
Attendees at the 2006 ASLA Annual Meeting & EXPO and 43rd IFLA World Congress, October 6—10 in Minneapolis, can earn up to 17 hours of continuing education credit toward maintenance of their state license (where mandated) by attending education sessions, general sessions, field sessions, and tours. By participating in extra programs such as the Green Roof Design workshops, it’s possible to earn up to 30 hours of credit. With up to eight topics to choose from in most time slots, participants will find plenty of choices that meet their licensure requirements and their practice needs.

ASLA will use an electronic tracking system for education sessions to provide attendance verification for credits. A record of attended sessions will be mailed after the annual meeting to attendees participating in this system. Attendees may use this record as part of the information they submit to state boards to satisfy reporting requirements. ASLA is applying to have many of the educational sessions approved by the Florida Board of Landscape Architecture. Attendees licensed in Florida must include their Florida license number on their registration form so that ASLA can submit attendance records to Florida.
In addition to taking advantage of the regular annual meeting education programs, attendees will have the opportunity to earn continuing education credit by attending the Green Roof Design 101 or 201 workshops, the LARE Workshops, or the Global Construction Market Outlook Luncheon. There are additional costs associated with these programs. Depending on state regulations for reporting attendance at these events, participants should keep track of the sessions they attend as well as handouts and registration confirmation (for example, for an event such as a tour).
State boards have varying requirements with regard to session attendance documentation as well as how many continuing education credits may be acquired at the ASLA Annual Meeting. States also may limit the subject matter that will qualify for continuing education credits. Contact your state board for more information.
Register by September 15 to receive your registration packet prior to the meeting (available only for residents in the United States and Canada). After that date, you will need to pick up your packet at on-site registration in the Minneapolis Convention Center. All international attendees will be able to pick up their packet at on-site registration in the Minneapolis Convention Center.
