James Wescoat, ASLA, of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was appointed to a three-year term on the National Research Council, Water Science and Technology Board, which provides scientific and policy advice to federal agencies and national organizations. In 2005, he chaired a joint NRC-Royal Society of Canada Review of the Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Studies (Washington: National Academies Press, 2006).
TBG Partners, a landscape architecture and land planning firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of landscape designers Thomas W. Auer, ASLA, and Matthew Manda, ASLA, to Associates in the Houston office.
Auer earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree from Purdue University. A valuable member of TBG for 6 years, he is responsible for project management, design development, and presentation graphics for a variety of large-scale projects, including residential communities and mixed-use developments. Auer is currently working on Jacob’s Ranch and Mustang Creek, both residential communities in Houston, Texas, as well as, The Island at South Shore, a mixed-use development in League City, Texas.
A member of TBG for 2 years, Manda is responsible for project management, design and coordination on a variety of mixed-use developments, resorts, and large residential communities. Currently, Matt is working on Lake Pointe Town Center, a mixed-use development in Sugar Land, Texas, Tuscan Lakes, a residential community in League City, Texas, as well as, The Village at Tuscan Lakes, an integral section of the larger community geared for active adults.
The firm is also pleased to announce the addition of landscape designer Amanda Wilkinson, Associate ASLA,to the Austin office. Wilkinson earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree from Texas Tech University in 2004. In addition to being a licensed irrigator and the Texas Chapter ASLA Secretary for the Austin Section, she is responsible for the design and production of a number of large master planned communities. Currently, she is working on Seven Meadows Community, an 860-acre master planned community in Katy, Texas, and the recreation center for Bridgeland Community in Houston, Texas.
Bowman Consulting is pleased to announce the promotion of Michael P. Pointer, ASLA, to Principal. Pointer brings over 20 years of planning and civil engineering experience in all aspects of land development. As Principal, and a member of the Board of Directors, he will be actively involved in the firm’s strategic operations while continuing to serve as Branch Manager of the Winchester office. Pointer has a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University and is a certified landscape architect in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Jason Dolan, ASLA, has been promoted to senior project landscape architecte at ColeJenest & Stone, P.A. He joined the firm in 2003 as a lanscape architect II, and received his Bachelor of Science defree in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University.
As a member of the fir’s Commercial Sector team, Dolan provides landscape architectural services for clients throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. He has participated in such notable projects as Metropolitan at Midtown Mixed Use, The Vue, and Piedmont Town Center.
