Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board Summary Report
March 3-4, 2006, meeting

The Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) met on March 3-4, 2006. Whitney Talcott, ASLA, of Kaestle Boos Associates Inc. participated in the meeting as the new ASLA representative to the LAAB. The LAAB made the following accreditation decisions:

Granted accreditation for six years (due to expire on December 31, 2011) to:

  • University of Georgia—course of study leading to the first professional BLA degree
  • University of Idaho—course of study leading to the first professional BLA degree
  • North Carolina A & T State University—course of study leading to the first professional BSLA degree
  • University of Massachusetts—course of study leading to the first professional MLA degree
  • University of Texas at Arlington—course of study leading to the first professional MLA degree

Granted Candidacy Status to:

  • Boston Architectural Center—course of study leading to the first professional BLA degree.

The LAAB thanks the following members of the Roster of Visiting Evaluators (ROVE) who participated as visiting team members (team chairs in bold):

  • University of Georgia—Dixon Hanna and Ken Fowler, ASLA
  • University of Idaho—Walt Bremer, ASLA, Dr. Mark Clayton, and Kent Watson, FASLA
  • North Carolina A & T State University—Sadik Artunc, FASLA, Juan Bueno, ASLA, and Karl Von Bieberstein, FASLA
  • University of Massachusetts—Alf Simon, ASLA, Michael McCulley, and Larry Walling, FASLA
  • University of Texas at Arlington—Ron Stoltz, ASLA, Dr. Barrett Kennedy, and Jim Wike, ASLA

Also, LAAB will be hosting a training session for those interested in being site reviewers at the CELA meeting in June.
