EDSA has been commissioned by the City of Oakland Park, Florida to create an ordinance that will serve as a catalyst for redevelopment along two main arterial roadways within the City.  Underutilized property and elevated vacancy has resulted in adverse conditions for the area. EDSA is working to develop a zoning regulation that brings mixed-use, neighborhood compatible and quality redevelopment that provides increased opportunities for property owners and developers. Combining urban design with environmental advocacy, EDSA is recommending an incentive program that simultaneously achieves economic gains and environmental sustainability through the promotion of green building development. EDSA’s goal is to promote sustainable practices that add value to the district and create a unique identity for the City of Oakland Park.
