Tree Planting on U.S. Capitol Grounds Honors Landscape Architect Ian McHarg

In celebration of National Landscape Architecture Week, James van Sweden, FASLA, represented ASLA on a national radio tour on Tuesday, April 22, 2003. He participated in ten-minute interviews with a dozen small- to mid-size radio stations, two national syndicates (ABC and USA) and two state syndicates (Texas and Illinois). Paul F. Morris, FASLA, gave an hour-long interview on April 15, 2003, on The Food and Wine Radio Network. He promoted National Landscape Architecture Week and tackled broader issues including sustainable development, security design, and healthy living through design.


2004 ASLA Analysis and Planning Award of Merit, West Harlem Master Plan, W Architecture and Landscape Architecture, LLC  

The Library Enhancement Initiative was a great success. Twenty-five chapters distributed sixty-three sets of books to schools and libraries. Those chapters include: Alabama; Arizona; Arkansas; Boston; Northern California; Southern California; Colorado; Hawaii; Idaho/Montana; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Louisiana; Michigan; Minnesota; New Jersey; New Mexico; North Carolina; Potomac; Rhode Island; San Diego; St. Louis; Utah; Vermont; Washington; and Wisconsin.
