It is probably safe to say that, as landscape architects, we want to increase productivity and quality while also reducing costs and the time it takes us to do our work. We have been using CAD programs for years in an attempt to do just that. One task that landscape architects are involved in is the development of planting plans.

What digital tools are available for simplifying this process? Low-cost options might meet the needs of landscape architects working on residential projects, but high-end applications for larger projects require a more sophisticated set of tools.
