          2004 Student Awards Jury Comments

This project systematically used GIS data compiled from various sources, including Brevard County and the Florida Geographic Database Library (FGDL) to study the area surrounding existing preservation lands in order to determine which lands should be saved so that the existing preservation areas might be linked, and both sand pine and xeric oak scrub could be protected. It utilized a series of overlays and combined these overlays using the rules of logical combination.
