2004 Landscape Architecture Medal of Excellence

Urban Land Institute

The Landscape Architecture Medal of Excellence recognizes significant contributions to landscape architecture policy, research, education, project planning and design, or a combination of these items. The body of work must have been maintained at a consistent level of excellence for at least 10 years.

Founded during the Great Depression as a research and education organization, ULI’s mission is to provide responsible leadership in the use of land to enhance the total environment. Today, Urban Land Institute (ULI) represents some 18,000 professionals—including many leading landscape architects. ULI members are community builders who develop, own, or enhance the value of more than 80 percent of the U.S. commercial property market. As the preeminent, multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates the open exchange of ideas, information and experience among developers, planners, designers, and public officials dedicated to creating better places. ULI initiates cutting-edge research to anticipate emerging land use trends and issues. It is one of the world’s most respected and quoted organizations in urban planning, land use, and development.
