Charge and Responsibility
Advise the public relations staff on development and implementation of media relations strategies, publicity materials, and outreach activities for the Society on both a national and grassroots level; assist in identifying members who have expertise in various market sectors and types of practice to serve as qualified spokespersons to represent the profession to the media; assist in the formulation of strategic communication plans for ASLA policies and programs and the development of internal, issue-oriented national and chapter public relations efforts; suggest opportunities to generate positive coverage of the profession; and regularly evaluate ASLA’s publicity efforts.

Review and recommend improvements to ASLA’s web resources and electronic communications (including LAND Online, The Dirt, other e-newsletters, product sales, and online services) to better serve targeted audiences: landscape architects, students, allied design and construction professionals, the general public, and the media.

Reporting
Reports on committee activity are included in the Program and Operations Reports prepared quarterly for the Board of Trustees by the executive vice president and staff liaisons.
