ASLA’s Urban Design PPN serves as a forum for advocates of design excellence within the urban realm. We facilitate communication between related disciplines involved in urban design while promoting and supporting landscape architects as recognized collaborative partners and leaders. Our group is focused on the intricate relationship between built and green environments, the unique contribution that the natural environment makes to the quality of city life, and the importance of the role that landscape architects play as stewards of the urban environment.

Goals of our group include:

• exploring and discussing urban design issues, including best practices;
• producing publications, especially a group newsletter; and
• promoting and supporting collaborative partnerships between landscape architects and other urban design professionals.
