The American Society of Landscape Architects is pleased to
congratulate Landscape Architecture
Magazine for being named a five-time finalist in the prestigious Eddie and
Ozzie Awards, as announced by FOLIO: Magazine. The Eddie and Ozzie Awards is
the largest awards competition in magazine publishing. The Eddies recognize
editorial excellence; the Ozzies recognize excellence in magazine design.
LAM was selected as a 2012 Eddie Award finalist in one
Association/Nonprofit category:
- Best Full Issue, September
2011. This special issue focused on September
11 memorials.
LAM was selected four times as a 2012 Ozzie Award finalist
in the following Association/Nonprofit categories:
- Best Cover: August
2011 issue. The cover depicts the Lake Whitney Water Treatment Plant, located
in New Haven, Connecticut, and designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.
- Best Feature Design: February
2012 issue, "Morocco's Spell" and "Skatepark
Unintended"
- Best Use of Photography: February
2012 issue, “Morocco’s Spell,” Michael Moran, photographer, and Chris
McGee, LAM art director.
The FOLIO: team, along with a panel of industry leaders,
narrowed the more than 2,000 entries received this year to a list of roughly
400 finalists. FOLIO: will hand out the bronze, silver and gold award winners
for each category during an awards luncheon on October 31st as part of FOLIO:
MediaNext in New York City.
Congratulations to the entire LAM staff and the magazine’s
contributors, and especially to Chris McGee for his tireless excellence in
designing the magazine—the recognition for him is well earned.
