A LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT’S GUIDE TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTRACTING

This information is provided to help landscape architects learn about and access information on major federal programs and funding opportunities in which their services could be used.

While few federal programs actually specify landscape architecture as an eligible activity, it is clear that the profession can provide important services to numerous federal initiatives. In some cases, landscape architectural services could be modest in scope. In others, these services could constitute the entire project.

This information summarizes each federal program, its funding source, and provides links to information on applying for grants or submitting for contractual work. It is important to note that this information cannot take the place of continuing communication between landscape architects and program officials at national headquarters or regional field offices. Such communication is a more certain means of having the most up-to-date information, determining submission deadlines, specific guidelines, and details about when funds and contracts are awarded.
