A substantial shift has occurred away from AIA and project unique contract documents toward a greater use of the firm’s own contract or a standard contract of the owner. ASLA’s recent introduction of its own standard contract document, worked out in cooperation with Leatzow Insurance, recognizes this need to provide agreements that reflect the specific nature of the profession’s work.
