Seeking the pastoral beauty of the rolling vineyards and golden foothills of wine country at twilight? Escape to the Landscape Architecture Foundation's 17th Annual Benefit Dinner. The Grape Escape will take place on Friday, October 18, during the ASLA annual meeting in San Jose, California.

This year, LAF will hold its casually sophisticated event from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Chateau La Cresta at the Mountain Winery in nearby Saratoga, California. Situated high in the hilltops of the Santa Cruz mountain range, the chateau provides breathtaking views of the Santa Clara valley and south bay area. After sunset, guests will enjoy gourmet dining in combination with award-winning wines, live jazz, and catching up with friends and colleagues.

"For the past three years, the benefit dinner was held in an art museum where guests had access to the host city's prized collection of paintings and sculpture. But this year, we chose the scenic beauty and tranquility of the California landscape as the focal point for the event," said Barbara Faga, FASLA, vice president of development for LAF and chair of the board for EDAW.

In Boston and Saint Louis, more than 200 people attended the events. Proceeds from The Grape Escape benefit signature LAF programs. Admission is $150 per person and cocktail attire is recommended. Complimentary round-trip shuttle service will be available from the The Fairmont Hotel. LAF is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and $100 of each $150 admission fee is tax-deductible.

The Grape Escape is made possible by the generous support of Valley Crest. Additional sponsors of the event include EDAW, EDSA, Hunter Industries, Landscape Forms, L.M. Scofield Company, and ONA, as well as The Brickman Group, Bridge Builders/Fox Lake Construction, Civitas, ESRI, dhm design, The HOK Planning Group, Meisner + Associates Land Vision, MIG, NUVIS , and Sasaki Associates.
