Lechmere Canal Park

Lechmere Canal Park is the centerpiece of the East Cambridge riverfront plan developed in 1978 by the city of Cambridge with architect Dennis Carlone. The urban design plan called for enlarging the canal with a circular basin as the focal point of nine acres of new parkland and creating a strong visual connection to the Charles River. Today, the area is a thriving mix of housing, retail stores, and offices.

Lechmere Canal Park was designed by Carol R. Johnson Associates.
