Description:

Applications are now open for the University of British Columbia’s Climate Action and Community Engagement (CACE) micro-certificate! This program supports local government and community leaders in fostering grassroots climate action by engaging and training local climate champions. CACE offers new skills and career opportunities needed to address the rapidly growing need for civic engagement in climate action, especially in communities that are increasingly vulnerable to climate change extremes.

Participants will:

  • Identify climate change causes, impacts, and solutions at the local scale
  • Design community engagement plans for local-scale climate action
  • Facilitate fun, interactive and hands-on activities to engage their community in climate conversations
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and community engagement skill-building

Although the university is located in Vancouver, Canada, the CACE program is fully online and part-time for 8 weeks. The next cohort runs from February 13 to April 28, 2023. Learn more about the program and register via the link below, or contact cheryl.ng@ubc.ca if you have questions. We would love to hear from you.
