Rail~Volution 2021 Call for Speakers

Date: 4/7/2021 - 4/30/2021

Type: Call for Papers / Submissions

LA CES approved?: No

Location(s): US

Description:

The 2021 Call for Speakers is your chance to influence more of our programs. Submit for the Rail~Volution virtual conference in October and our year-round Information Exchange program of podcasts and webinars, which will be scheduled between summer 2021 and spring 2022.

The Rail~Volution conference focuses on leveraging all modes of transit (rail, BRT and bus) along with multimodal options and development to create great places to live. Whether virtual or in-person, there is no better place to network with all the stakeholders involved with building more livable and equitable communities. Conference formats include:

  • keynotes: addressed to the full conference
  • sessions: usually 3-4 speakers representing cross-sector viewpoints about a topic
  • mobile workshops: virtual tours of transportation projects and/or transit-oriented developments, with speakers able to share details about challenges and lessons learned
  • deep-dive discussions: lightly facilitated small-group interaction about a core issue or challenge
  • peer learning: opportunities to network and exchange experiences with others working in the same sector

The Information Exchange focuses on engaging the network year-round. Formats include:

  • podcasts: released monthly, featuring either one guest and our host or two guests who talk to each other one-to-one
  • webinars: very similar to conference sessions, but delivered outside the conference
