Education Programs Manager and LAAB Administrator

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and its members work to design a more sustainable, livable, and beautiful world. Landscape architects create city master plans, design ecosystems, develop innovative park projects like the High Line in New York City, roll out bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and renew residential landscapes. ASLA has more than 15,000 members in the U.S. and around the world.

The Education Programs Manager and LAAB Administrator serves as the administrator of the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) and manages career discovery programs. The position also: 

  • Provides program management support for LAAB, including: serves as LAAB liaison to landscape architecture programs; manages the Roster of Visiting Evaluators (ROVE) team accreditation visits and edits team reports; represents LAAB before the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors (ASPA); works with LAAB on strategic planning; works collaboratively with presidents council organizations; provides information on accreditation to students, schools, and the public; coordinates meetings of LAAB and supports the LAAB chair.
  • Manages the development of career discovery and education program resources, including related ASLA website pages.
  • Provides information and conducts outreach related to landscape architecture education and career discovery.  
  • Serves as staff executive to the Committee on Education (COE) and such other special study groups, task forces, and/or representatives
  • Supports the VP Education

Education: BA degree, graduate degree a plus. Degree in landscape architecture helpful.

Skills:  Facility with Microsoft Office computer applications and database management required; experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional preferred. Strong networking and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide counsel and guidance to committees and volunteers.

Experience: Four-to-five years in professional accreditation; knowledge of landscape architecture, design, planning, and/or environmental issues.
