Vaughn B. Rinner, ASLA, has been in private practice for over 35 years and is currently a partner with LandMark Design Group, an interdisciplinary firm in Virginia Beach. CLARB certified, she is licensed in several states. Her practice has been diverse, including planned communities, urban design, streetscapes, park planning and design, and site design for both public and private clients. She also serves as operations director of the firm, overseeing marketing, administration, and finances.

She has been actively involved in ASLA for nearly 20 years. She received the President’s Award from seven Virginia Chapter presidents as well as the Distinguished Service Award. Chapter offices held include treasurer, vice president for governance, president, and trustee. She has been involved in licensure and practice issues, serving on both the Virginia and ASLA Licensure Committees and participating in two ASLA Licensure Summits. She also served on several other national committees, including continuing education, membership, government affairs, and professional practice (chairing the PPC's specifications subcommittee and serving on its business owners support subcommittee). A long-time member of the ASLA Finance and Investments Committee, she served as the first chair of the Audit Committee and as chair of the finance committee in 2010.

She serves as one of two landscape architects on the Virginia Combined Regulatory Board and is currently in her second four-year term. She is active in CLARB, participating on the Model Law Committee, the Standards and Reciprocity Committee, and the Nominating Committee. She has also served several times as an exam grader.

She participates in numerous professional and community organizations, making presentations on various landscape architecture subjects and serving as a newsletter editor for several organizations. She represented landscape architects on the founding Board of Directors of the Virginia Urban Forest Council, where she served as president and assisted in the development of the strategic plan. She served as the CNU representative on the USGBC working group for development of the Northeast Regional Credits for LEED-ND, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads ULI.
