HighlineFriends of the High Line will receive the Landscape Architecture Medal of Excellence. The award recognizes significant contributions to landscape architecture policy, research, education, project planning and design, or a combination of these items. Founded in 1999, Friends of the High Line worked relentlessly to save New York City’s elevated railbed, the High Line, from demolition and then created the renowned park that has sparked development on New York City’s West Side.  Friends of the High Line works closely with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to make sure the park is maintained as a great public space for all to enjoy.
